Peter Wittendorp

CEO

Singapore

Peter is CEO and also serves as the Portfolio Manager for SilkRoad Asia Value Partners Funds.

Peter has spent his entire career in real estate, including more than 20 years as a Fund Manager for large institutional real estate funds. He was formerly the Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at AEW Asia, the Chief Investment Officer at ING REIM Asia and Senior Vice President and Fund Manager for the €3.4 billion ProLogis European Properties Fund. Peter was formerly an Executive Vice President at APG where he oversaw a $12 billion portfolio. Peter is a M.S. graduate of University of Amsterdam. Peter is a member of the ULI.

Mark Khoo

Senior Advisor

Singapore

Mark is a Senior Advisor and Investment Committee Member.

Mark has over 25 years of experience analyzing Asian economies and real estate markets. Prior to joining SilkRoad, Mark was the Director of Research at AEW Asia and an investment committee member. Mark spent 10 years at GIC Real Estate, one of the world’s largest institutional investors, where he was Vice President of Research and Strategy. Mark is a B.A. graduate of University of Michigan has an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Nick Kearns

Managing Director, Head of Hong Kong

Hong Kong

Nick is responsible for investments in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.

Prior to joining SilkRoad, he was a Director and Country Manager for Hong Kong at AEW Asia. He has led over $1.8 billion of transactions in Hong Kong and Singapore since moving to the region in 2007. Nick was a Vice President at ProLogis Europe, where he worked on the €3.4 billion ProLogis European Properties Fund before joining AEW. Nick has an A.B. from Princeton University, an M.B.A. from the University of Texas, and is a CFA Charterholder. Nick is a member of the ULI and Chairs the firm’s ESG Committee.

Berend Poppe

Managing Director, Head of China

Hong Kong

Berend is responsible for investments in Mainland China.

He has led over $500 million of transactions in China. Prior to joining SilkRoad, was responsible for Corporate Finance as well as the asset management and disposition of investments in Beijing and Shanghai for AEW Asia. Berend previously worked in real estate investment banking for RBS and ABN AMRO, based in Hong Kong and the Netherlands. He began his career at APG. Berend has in total 24 years of working experience in real estate and has been living in Asia (Hong Kong and Shanghai) since 2005. Berend is a CFA Charterholder, has a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Maastricht and is Mandarin speaking.

Cary Koo

Head of Finance, Director

Singapore

Cary is responsible for the financial and reporting operations for funds managed by SilkRoad.

She has over 17 years of experience in finance and accounting. Prior to joining SilkRoad, she was a finance manager at Lendlease Investment Management Pte Ltd, where she was responsible for the financial function of 3 Real Estate Funds. She was overseeing matters in relation to accounting, financial and management reporting, tax and treasury. Prior to that, Cary was a fund accountant at Capitaland Township Pte Ltd. Cary is a Singaporean, who is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and holds a professional degree with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

George Kang

Executive Director, Head of Singapore

Singapore

George is responsible for acquisitions and asset management in Singapore.

He has been involved in the acquisition of assets as well as office and industrial leasing deals worth US$800 million in Singapore since 2004. Prior to joining SilkRoad in 2015, George was the team lead for high specifications industrial properties at  Ascendas REIT. He was also an investment manager at Mapletree Industrial Trust and spent six years at Colliers International as an investment and leasing broker. George has an MSC in Real Estate from the National University of Singapore and a B.A. in Commerce from the University of Western Australia.

Takashi Hamajima

Executive Director, Head of Japan

Tokyo

Takashi Hamajima (Hammer) is responsible for acquisitions and asset management in Japan.

He has 24 years of diverse professional experience in the Japanese real estate industry. Prior to joining SilkRoad in 2023, Hammer was a General Manager at Ascot Corp where his responsibilities included sourcing, acquisitions and asset management across the residential, office, hotel, logistics, and data center sectors. He also worked for Amazon.com (Amazon Web Services) managing land acquisition, development, and expansion of AWS Data Centers across Japan. Prior to Amazon, he was an Executive Director at Octopus Holdings Foundation. As one of the 11 global board members, he directed real estate investment and development, international trading, and cross-border M&A in Japan. Hammer has also had senior roles at BlackRock, Lone Star Funds (Hudson Japan), Morimoto and Mitsubishi Estate Residence. Hammer is a Japanese citizen and holds a Bachelor of Laws at Doshisha University and an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School, The University of Manchester.
